Speciality Examination to held in Various

Disciplines of Medical Sciences for the Award of

“ Diplomate of  National Board” in June 2005”

 

The National Board of Examination is an autonomous body established by the Ministry of Health & family Welfare, Primarily to conduct postgraduate and higher examinations in various disciplines of medical sciences of high and uniform standard at the National level.  Successful candidates are awarded “ DIPLOMATE OF NATIONAL BOARD” which is recognized as equivalent to Postgraduate (MD/MS in broad specialities) and postdoctoral (DM/Mch in higher specialities) degree qualifications of Indian Universities and included in the First Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

 

2. The examination of the Board is held in two part-Centralized Entrance Test and Final.  The next batch of examinations of the Board will be held on 11th and12th June 2005 (Centralized Entrance Test on Sunday the 12th June, 2005 and Final  on 11th and 12th June, 2005 in the following specialities).

 

(i)                  BROAD SPECIALIES : Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Radio-diagnosis, Radio-Therapy, Anaesthesiology, Dermatology and Venereology, Respiratory Diseases, Nuclear Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolarygology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Social and Preventive Medicine, Maternal Child Health, Health Administration including Hospital Administration, Family Medicine (General Practice), Immuno-Heematology & Transfusion Medicine.

(ii)                SUPER SPECIALITIES : Cardiology, Endiocrinology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology, Neonatology, Plastic Surgery, Paediatrics Surgery, Neuro-Surgery, Genito-Urinary Surgery, Surgical Gastroenterology, Cardio-thoracic Surgery and Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Surgical Oncology.

(iii)             SUBJECT UNDER DIRECT 5 YEAR COURSE AFTER INTERNSHIP

Neurosurgery, Paediatric Surgery and Plastic Surgery

CENTRALISED ENTRANCE TEST EXAMINATIONS

3. There will be common Centralized Entrance Test Examination for all the Broad Specialties and for direct 5 year course in Neurosurgery, Paediatrics Surgery and Plastic Surgery.  After passing MBBS and after completion of internship the candidate shall be eligible to take the CET Examination.  This examination will be of the MBBS level.

 

4. Candidates possessing Postgraduate qualification in any speciality (both degree and diploma) recognized by MCI / UNIVERSITIES in any of the Broad specialities will be exempted from the Centralized Entrance Test Examination. They may appear directly for the Final Examination, if otherwise eligible.

 

FINAL EXAMINATION

5. Bulletin of Information of June, 2005 Examination of the Board may be consulted for eligibility in the subject of Board and Super Specialties.

6. Only those candidates who are registered with the Board for training at an Institution / Hospital should apply for the Examination to be held in June, 2005 provided they have completed 3 years of training. MD/MS candidates can apply straightaway.

While applying for the application by post from the office of the NBE each request should be accompanied by Demand Draft worth Rs. 500/- (Rs. Five Hundred only) in favour of National Board of Examinations, payable at New Delhi including postal charges.

8. All candidates who have failed in Board’s examination and wish to take the June 2005, examination are requested to apply on the new form. Application filled in the old forms will Not be accepted.

9. Instructions contained in the latest Bulletin for June, 2005 examinations should alone be consulted for filling up the application form.

10. Forms can also be downloaded form Board’s Website www.natboard.nic.in and application form fee of Rs.500/- through bank draft is required to be remitted with the application.

11. Application form duly completed with all particulars should reach the Executive Director at the above address latest by 21st March, 2005 or with late fee of Rs.500/- on or before 31st March, 2005.

12. Incomplete Application Forms without requisite enclosures are liable to be rejected.
